Benjamin Steinberg

Benjamin Steinberg is the most recent addition to Avera & Smith, LLP. Ben graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he served as an Executive Editor of the Florida Law Review. During his time in law school, he earned Book Awards in Torts, Insurance Law, and Legal Writing & Research.

Before choosing to pursue a career in the law, Ben owned and operated a marketing firm in Gainesville that specialized in internet-based marketing solutions. A “double Gator”, he graduated from the University of Florida in 2000, with majors in both English and Sociology.

As a law student, he was author of two significant journal publications:

-Collateral Damage: Discounted Medical Bills and Conflicting Applications of Florida Statutes § 768.76 as a Rule of Evidence, 62 Fla. L. Rev. 1431 (Dec. 2010).

-Making BP’s Blood Curd-le: Duty, Economic Loss, and the Potential Cardozian Nightmare After Curd v. Mosaic Fertilizer, 63 Fla. L. Rev. 1245 (Sep. 2011)

Ben’s focus at Avera & Smith is in personal injury and workers’ compensation law. He also handles transactional matters such as the drafting of contracts, purchase agreements and indemnification agreements.

Ben and his wife, Stacey, have two sons, Mason and Isaac. He is an avid golfer, a youth basketball coach at the local YMCA, and a fan of everything Florida Gator.
